Purchasing a rebuilt manual transmission 87 e24

Post by ecsmoot »

My synchronizers for 3 and 4 gear are failing. What is the best option for purchasing a rebuilt transmission? Dealer lists a rebuild out of Atlanta for $3100. Metric Mechanic in Richland, MO sells a re-engineered hybrid for $4100, they claim is superior. Anyone know about their product. Any better options for me in Lake Charles, LA?

Talk to Carl at Kormanautoworks.com. They rebuild Getrag 280's.

I spoke with Metric. They are not 280 fans and offer a 265 reworked for an e24.

Not sure of Korman's pricing.

Good luck.
