Rear Muffler NLA??

Post by Dmckim »

I am working on my friends 83 633csi. Last time I needed a rear muffler for my 1980, I know it was available, albeit a while ago because it came from Steve Haygood!

The one for my friends e28 based car is shown as NLA on realoem and on most sites. I am surprised. What have you guys been doing for your cars? This car is a complete driver, so a performace exhaust isn't really an option.

Yes, I went through the same thing about a year ago with my '83. After looking for about 4 months, I found an Anza old stock OEM replacement unit sitting on a muffler shop's shelf. Apparently he had ordered it for a customer who never came back. He was happy to unload it and I was more happy to get it. They are hard to find, but may still be out there if you look.
Good luck!

Thanks for that. Realoem is showing a different part number. I will call FCP tomorrow to get their opinion. The first one listed looks like the right unit.

Thanks

The Summit site says that unit is for a 85-88. Did something with the exhaust change when in went from a 633 to a 635?

Not sure about that. Perhaps the addition of catalytic issue started about then?
