Oil Pressure Gauge Setup

Hi Everyone

I realise this topic has been covered quite a bit but I want to install an oil pressure gauge in our car and couldn't find the answer to my question.

I found a post from Brucey that mentioned a setup under the hood around the oil filter was the place to get the best reading. I was wondering if there is already a hole/bolt etc that is in this area that can be used or does it need a new one tapped in?

Has anyone else installed one in this area? Would it be possible to get a few pics if possible please?

Cheers
Mark

Then it's an M30 engine with the current oil pressure sensor switch (operating the oil pressure light on the dash clocks) on the rear of the cylinder head just beyond the camshaft rocker cover. It has a single wire going to it, and is probably the best and easiest place to remove the existing sensor and replace it with a dual sensor for the existing dash light and a sender for a gauge.

Use the forum search tool using the keywords to find threads that will help out.

Hi Rangi

I did as Sharkfan suggested via a custom brass fitting to take the existing sender for the dash warning light and take the gauge sender and used the spare tapped port on the oil filter housing for oil temp gauge.

Can you please point me in the right direction for where the spare tapped port on the oil filter housing is?

This must be the one Brucey was referring to and is the one i'd prefer to use for a new gauge.

Thanks
