went on a roadtrip and all the sudden my dash lights went iut as well as the reverse lights. checked fuse and its good, is there something obvious to check?

The brightness control? The lights wouldn't suddenly go out if it were barely moved, but could you have accidentally turned it all the way down? 
It wouldn't affect the reverse lights, though.
