Cruise Control and OBC issues after Inst. Cluster repair

I had my Instrument cluster removed and sent out to have the batteries replaced and the odo gears fixed.
After it went back in the car the cruise control and the fuel usage info on the OBC have stopped working. Specifically the range is frozen at 293, and the avg MPG, avg MPH were frozen, so i reset them and now they read "---". The instant economy gauge on the cluster still works, so does the speedo and the ODO
Going through the troublshooting manual I found here on the site it seems the Cruise control and ODC both are dependent on speed info from the cluster.
This removal and install was done by a reputable BMW shop near me and he sent the cluster out to a company in Virginia for that work. He's reaching out the them, but I hoped someone here might have seen this before.
