Hi folks
I was wondering if anyone could help please.
Recently I noticed two wires in the loom going to the starter motor that aren’t connected to anything.
In addition to the heavy duty cables, there are three smaller wires. There’s a black/yellow wire that’s connected to the bottom spade on the solenoid (as I look from above)
But there are two other wires with spade connectors that aren’t connected to anything at all.
Also, there’s a spade on the top of the solenoid that hasn’t anything connected to it at all.
Could anyone have a look at their own setup and offer some guidance please.
The car starts fine, no issues there
Thanks very much
Barry
First photo is of the black/yellow wire, which has a substantial plastic shroud over the connector and is connected to the lower spade on the solenoid.
The second shows the other wires, which have rubber protection shrouds and aren’t connected to anything.

Re: Wires to starter motor
You will find several loose wires like that. The wire loom was somewhat generic to reduce mfg costs so there are extra wires in different places.
