I'm probably going to do a project thread at some point, but I figured I would post this first.
I needed a 3" inlet muffler for a turbo build I'm doing on my e24, but wanted a "stock" look.
The muffler is a Gibson 758219. The offsets on the tail pipes are too sharp to bend. So I bought 2.25" mandrel u-bent pipes, cut them down the middle, flipped them and had someone who actually knows how to weld put them back together. 2.25" was selected because it ends up being the perfect offset for the bumper cutout. I'll update this thread when it's fitted to the car and a sound clip as well.

Re: E12 based performance muffler
Interesting, Any other details on the cutting down the middle and flipping? Or more pics of the process? I'm looking at doing something similar to a euro e24 BMW muffler so the exit pipes will line up properly with the e12 rear valence cutout. Its either that or make a new cut out in the valence.
Also where did you get your mandrel bent pipe?
