You slit the new covers and then put them in place and glue them together with contact cement. You may call contact cemet rubber cement it is what is used to laminate formica . If used properly it will make a very strong joint. The only other way to do it is to remove the pins from the plugs, wires attached, slip through the new boots and then re insert into the plugs. Slitting the boots will work if joined with a strong medium as I suggest

Thank guys for advices. I’ll try to remove the pins from plug as a first – I’ve just bough very similar new plug and see that maybe I do it somehow.

Gardner Bender Liquid Tape is unreachable in my location. I can use black Sikaflex (polyurethane sealant) instead- not nice in work but better than nothing.

OK, done. Pulling out the pins from plug is not difficult.

End of inflexible wire (for instance safety pin with cut tip) has to be pushed into the slot (red arrow on photo) till you fill delicate click. Than pull out the pin from opposite side of plug. The pins has small springing tap (white arrow on 2nd photo) – end of the wire pushes down the tap which stops to block the pin – that’s it. Now the plug is off and it’s possible to replace the protection cap.

First plug took me 1 hour till I found proper tool. Such hour requires a lot of patience and iron spine. Second plug was done within half a minute.
