altenator removal

Post by bm0635 »

hi, trying to remove altenator from m635, replacing bushes, top bolt came out easily, btm. swivel bolt, undid the bolt closest to the fire wall, hit the end with a hammer gently but bolt will not move, then started at the front trying to undo the nut bolt, you can turn as many times as you like, it will not come out, then i noticed a lock pin, do you have to remove this, what does this lock pin do, unless there is a recess in the bolt??, can somebody chime in and give me a few clues

regards
