Pressure plate bolts
doing a auto to 5sp changeover, new bolts for flywheel and p/plate. real oem shows bolt only for p/plate, no washers, is that correct? and I see two suggested torque setting for the harder replacement bolt, 22-26 or I read a post stating 36???

Re: Pressure plate bolts
Can't remember what I did on mine, but common sense says lock washers. I also think realoem isn't accurate. IIRC the plate they show as a shim in regard to the flywheel, is actually a plate with tabs on it that are bent against the bolt heads that hold the flywheel to the crank so they can't get loose.

Re: Pressure plate bolts
That plate with the locking tabs is why you don't need/use lock washers.bpoliakoff wrote: ↑Sat Oct 26, 2019 1:02 am IIRC the plate they show as a shim in regard to the flywheel, is actually a plate with tabs on it that are bent against the bolt heads that hold the flywheel to the crank so they can't get loose.

Re: Pressure plate bolts
For sure on the lock tabs But common sense says to use them on the pressure plate. Nothing like having a pp spin loose while driving down the road

Re: Pressure plate bolts
I am asking about pressure plate bolts, to be used with or w/ out washers, not asking about Flywheel bolts, all set there
Thank you

Re: Pressure plate bolts
Sorry, I posted in haste
I agree that you should use washers and thread locking compound
