Help needed BMW218D battery

Post by 635Convert »

I appreciate this is a 635 website and I do have one and am a member, however I hope you can help me with a problem on a more modern BMW 218 series. I have an elderly neighbour who has a BMW218D approx 3 years old. She has for obvious reasons not used the car for at least 4 or more weeks and the warning sign has come up that the battery is low. I have not been round to take a look but was going to plug in my Ctek MXS 3.6 conditioner to leave it charging etc.
It is actually quite difficult to find much info about where the battery is actually located and I am also a bit nervous about just plugging the Ctec in and perhaps doing some damage to the complex electronics.
Would appreciate any help/tips on the above and whilst she will obviously not be driving it around she is just nervous about not having a useable car in these troubled times.
Thanks in advance

Have you tried phoning a BMW dealership? Or maybe there'll be guidance in the car's Handbook.

I don't see why it should be any kind of problem, but can't say for sure.

That video made me laugh. It actually made the act of hooking up two terminals seem like a major procedure lol
