What is this box? (no part number)

Post by Lieuwegaal »

Hi Guys,

I've removed my dash and labeling al my cables and boxes.
But now I found this electronic box with no partnumber or brand or anything:

Image
I've looked at RealOEM.com but no luck so far..
It looks like it connects to the radio as I see the cable is pretty short and it has a round angled connector with round pins :-k

(EURO 633CSI from 1978)

Would be great of someone can point out what this box is used for [-o<

Maybe you can trace it with the ETM.

Thanks for your reply and the link. I believe I found the box in the document of the 1983 doc.
But now I can't really figure out what it is.. it's not saying it directly

Look for part location that's "under dash to left of glove box" not the pin location.

For example: page 202 look at "Central Locking Control Unit".

or page 204 "Blower Select Relay". That method should lead you

to units in that vicinity. Then I would Google the part by name and look at the images to compare.

Good luck

The pictures aren't particularly clear or up close. The hanging down connector looks like a remote cable for a CD changer or similar.

Are you saying that the pictures your looking at after you Google the part name are not clear?

Or are you trying to look at the shit photos from the manual.

Well I've met up with an e24 fanatic and he thinks it's something that goes on the the radio unit.
It's probably not OEM as there is no number and he's never seen it before.
We might wanne close this case as I'm not returning to an original radio and this will just go in the collection box :P

Thanks for your support and the link to the document I've figured out the way of working the document and really appreciate it [-o<
