How long is the existing 12mm fuel line from the tank to the inline fuel pump?

Just did mine, and the section is almost 1 meter long, you have about 5 cm left. I bought hose from WorldPac and they sell the 12 mm hose in 1 meter length, I was pissed because I ordered 2 meters and it came as 2 sections of 1 meter each.

Same here. So you are saying you just had enough using one meter? Did you have to just loosen the tank to snake it through the top?

I'm curious about the tank question also.

Yes, 1 meter is enough. It helps to loosen up the tank to create a little gap. I also sprayed the outside of the hose with silicone spray and connected the old to the new with a barbed 1/2" hose connector and just simply used the old hose to pull the new one through.

Not sure why it would matter what tank it is, my understanding is that the top of the tank is identical.
But for arguments sake it's a 70 liter tank in mine.

Just for info, the Euro cars I've done have used approx 60cm length of 12x18. In fact, I have quite a collection of utterly useless 40cm lengths in the spares stash! I've only ever worked on '81-87 UK cars, so obviously US is different.

Replacing the rubber hoses is definitely on the list of essential safety jobs for me. Brucey's "Little Perisher" CSV hose thread makes this point, too. In the UK we also have the joy of rusted hard lines and it would appear I've dodged a bullet in my current resto as one of the metal lines literally broke in half upon removal as the metal was so thin through external corrosion.

GREAT INFO!!! Thanks for the tips dude. Based on this info I sent back the 1 meter line that I just bought an ordered a longer piece. The barbed connector is also a great tip!
