ATF & filter change?

Post by alpina17 »

🤔🤔 Believe me I’ve read & read..but just wished to get a definitive answer to capacity/quantity of oil required for an ATF change including the filter?
(sorry 1990 635CSI)

Thank you,
Paul

Assuming it's a 4HP22-EH, the e28 Bentley I have should be correct - "approx. 3.0L"

Remember that a trans fluid change does not remove all of the old oil. There’s quite a bit of residual in the torque converter along with the solenoids and valve piping. Best to monitor fluid levels during refill

Cheers, ya read about this, close to 7L I think for a full extraction/flush...
I’ll stick to the quick flush & 3L🤔🤣
