1989 635 Help! Injector pintle ‘cap’ Where to source
Hi,
Had few stalling issues etc and trouble shooting various elements. As part of this we pulled the injectors and had them tested/cleaned. Just as well! V.Badly flowing.
When removing them a couple of the 31 yr old plastic pintle end caps disintegrated. We’ve tried a couple of different sources but when they arrive the don’t fit.
Here is a pic of the type I need. Anyone have 2 (at least) or a source for these correct ones PLEASE.
Ideas/ suggestions most welcome!
Thanks in advance. Mark

Most auto parts places sell "injector rebuild" kits, which doesn't really rebuild the injector, just replaces the O rings and pintle. They are cheap, less than $5 each.

Not familiar with Dr. Injector. This is what I mean. And the kits I've bought in the past didn't include the filter screens.

The Diesel supply and repair shop charged me $7.50 per and in addition they had brand new Bosch connectors with boots and pig tails which to me was a must have @ $2.50 per. The injectors themselves were plug and play as they were totally complete

That is dirt cheap! And being a diesel shop they certainly know their way around injector rebuilds.

Much appreciated all. I did another search. This is the closet ‘looking’ I could find....? Anyone know if these would fit/work?
Thanks!

Out of interest, what purpose do the pintle caps serve?

Outgoing PMs stay in your outbox until the recipient reads it/them.
The pintle is supposed to help the pattern of the injector spray stay directed away from the injector tip....or so I was told.
