Need to lengthen my UUC - Dual Shear Selector Rod.

Need to get a confirmation of length (pin center to pin center). Have not pulled the actual one out of the car yet. But I attempted to measure it with a pair of large dividers. Looks to be 197mm from pin center to pin center. UUC sent me a 147mm.

Getrag 260/6 from 1986 635csi

My plan is to cut the UUC - DSSR in half then tig weld a 5/8” ID - tube shaft to lengthen to correct size.

If someone in the group knows the selector rod length or has one laying around the shop that could make a quick center to center measurement, I would greatly appreciate it.

The correct length is 187mm center to center

Modified it to 197mm - tried to measure it form under the car using a big set of dividers

Will cut it and take 10mm out of the OAL

Have no idea why UUC recommend a 147mm - maybe that is the correct size for the Getrag 265

UUC is a sort shift assembly so it all is in conjunction as a unit. That is not a stock rod you show and again is from a short shift kit

Selector rod length affects the position of the shift knob. BUT, so does any bend in the shift lever. Install it all and then see how it works.

I ran into the same problem when I swapped a 260/6 in my 86 US
car from an 86 US donor. Bought the rod from Bav Auto and had the same problem.
Listed was 147 but your right, the correct length is 187.

At the time, Bav Auto was very helpful in getting me the 187 from UUC.
I don't remember what listing the 187 is under.
I spoke to UUC and told them to fix the error but I guess
it was more important to have customers like you get frustrated.
