Help identify mystery part
Reassembling car after no start, no crank and troubleshooting. I have what looks like an overflow or drain line. Pic attached. It’s ~ 7 inches long. Vehicle is 1985 635CSi. Thanks in advance!

Re: Help identify mystery part
Hi Ken, thanks for getting back to me! replaced the battery during this work and this vent part doesn’t fit very well into the new battery. But I now see where it’s supposed to go. Thanks!

Re: Help identify mystery part
I had this problem recently with my 840. I was able to glue the old vent tube into the plug for the new battery (which I drilled a hole through) to achieve the desired result.cornwallis wrote: ↑Mon Nov 16, 2020 11:53 am Hi Ken, thanks for getting back to me! replaced the battery during this work and this vent part doesn’t fit very well into the new battery. Re: Help identify mystery part
Here’s a pic of my battery. It has a vent hole but the hose didn’t fit - it fits but hits something. Won’t stay in place. So I’m not sure if this hose goes into the battery.

You can buy small hose at HD to replace the tube that doesn't fit. I think the clear vinyl will hold up .
