For the life of me I can't seem to understand how to properly set up this shifter. Im looking for some input on how to orient this spring, lock ring and the two metal collars. I may be missing some parts? any input would be greatly appreciated! Thanks.

Re: Shift Tower Help
For the aluminum console that you’re showing, only the nylon cup that snaps in place is all that you will need. The shifter is pushed into the nylon cup first, then that assembly snaps into the aluminum console
All those springs, snap ring and spacer ring are to be removed

Re: Shift Tower Help
okay so I basically don't need them at all? I'm using a g260/6 into a 1988 car so it's all late model parts.Ralph in Socal wrote: ↑Fri Feb 19, 2021 11:12 pm For the aluminum console that you’re showing, only the nylon cup that snaps in place is all that you will need. Re: Shift Tower Help
It appears that the shifter and cup are already in place. The shifter should be operational - meaning it moves in all directions and does not pop out of the console
All those additional parts are used for the sheet metal console and will get in the way of proper operation if left in place
