I'm considering purchasing a 1982 euro with m90 and dogleg.
Owner says he swapped the original harness for an e30 harness and ECU.
His plan was to eventually run ITBs and a megasquirt.
Is this E30 harness swap compatible? Anyone else seen it done? Any issues I should be concerned with?
Thanks!

That’s an engine management system for an M20 motor of smaller displacement. Why and how?

Re: E30 Harness on E24
Could it be an e30 Motronic 1.1/1.3 harness combined with an M30B35 ecu from an e34? It's been a while but I recall that it was possible to mix and match some of these things.
Does the car come with the original harness? Or a Megasquirt ecu for that matter, depending on whether you want to go ahead with that plan? Leaving it as-is with a frankenstein setup might cause headaches.

Re: E30 Harness on E24
Unfortunately the Motronic 1.3 upgrade is meant to generate 215 hp from an M30B34. This would be a lateral move for an M90 as that’s already producing more hp than that. Trying to extract more HP?
Sorry but I prefer the R&D and engineering capabilities of BMW
The M90 is an excellent setup from the factory. Messing with the engine controls of a budding classic car seems absurd
