My 85 Euro M635 has a 3.73 bigCase LSD

3.73 large case is correct for the pre Highline M635.

Btw, an e12 based e24 lsd has just sold for over Â£400 in eBay - is this the going rate or is that a rare item?

the E12 LSD diff is a rare item.

Isn't your diff noisy which is why you swapped it out? Didn't you mention passing it my way for experimental purposes?
