I found this information when looking for additional brake upgrade details. Prices may be out of date, but consider it a ballpark. Also, the .pdf has additional detail of why you might want one setup over another.

I use the 840ci brembo fronts on an e36 occasional race car and they work well but the only flaw is they use aluminium pistons creating more heat transfer to the fluid than say a set of AP's with steel pistons. To counter this I run a titanium plate behind the pad and this works and keeps the pedal firm especially when I have fresh pads.jps635 wrote:Excellent article. I'm looking at further brake options.
For those in the know (price aside) how would the E31 840 fronts with E34 M5 rears compare to a 4 pot AP racing set-up with same size rotors.
Anybody got AP's inside 17" rims?
Chris
For road use these would be sensational with the big 540 rears.
On the m635 I run th OEM fronts with the 540 rears with good dot 4.1 fluid and beaided lines. Pedal feel is great and stopping power is very good for road use. As I have no working abs yet it can lockup in the dry on the fronts first so the brake balance is good. I was surprised in fact I could lock up at 80km/h in the dry on good Michelin tyres.
