Abbreviations
A = Automatic gearbox
RHD = Right Hand Drive
Cat = Catalytic emission control
USA = Model for export to USA
Japan = Model for export to Japan

I don't think the "A" suffix always meant automatic gearbox. I've seen (and have) E24s with the A suffix that were manual 5 speeds. When you run the VIN, it comes back as being manual from new.

Other than that, thanks for posting! I wish the columns lined up better.

I believe it was A indicated automatic.

But the tag in the door I think was generic and will show /A on cars that were manual.
