Had a major fuel leak issue. Replaced expansion tank lines, and main fuel line to the pump and fuel rail.
I believe I got the leakage issues resolved!
A bit of a pain to get them, but the\y were the original 30 year old lines in place, so it makes sense why they were deteriorated.

Bought this second set of BBS RA wheels last summer:
I have been polishing one of the wheels, but will likely take the other in to get done professionally---it just takes too much time by hand.
Here's the one I have been working on. It needs higher grit sanding (1000+) and then a final polish, but it looks pretty good:

Trying out the 14" wheels on the 635. These wheels came on the 3.0CSL. Unfortunately I don't have center caps. They aren't worth much, but definitely give the car a period look.
When I get some new tires in the 14", I would consider running them on this car for a while. But they 16" seems perfect for comfort and performance on the E12 based cars.

Thanks, they are 16" wheels with the staggered 7" front and 8" rears.Ozibimmer wrote:Hi
Car looks really goooood, what size are the bbs wheels?
I love the black with gold wheels it make me think JPS racing.
Any more details on your suspension setup?
Cheers
Addam
Right now the suspension is Bilstein HD's on what I believe to be stock e12 based springs (green mark).
I have a few different wheel options but have been happy with these :)
And C.R. --- that's a good idea, i'll have to try some spare trx centercaps

What tire size are you running, I just picked up a set of Simmons V5 with the Gold and polished lips. My Rim size is 16 x 8 front and rear and I have the e28 base E24 so thinking Front 225/50/16 and rear 245/50/16 but open to your suggestions because you have tried other wheels on your car.tschultz wrote:Thanks, they are 16" wheels with the staggered 7" front and 8" rears.Ozibimmer wrote:Hi

I have tried 205/55/16 and 225/50/16's (in staggered setup, and also both in square).
I noticed that the 225/50 setup seems to fit the 8" wheel better that the 205's (which had a little bit of "stretch").
What I also noticed about going wider, was that the the steering feel became more heavy. I am guessing this is because of that wider patch of tire on the ground giving just that bit more friction. In my personal opinion I don't see much advantage in wider tires unless you want the look, or if you are doing track/autocross (and even then, the wider tires add more unsprung weight and additional friction).
It all comes out to be personal preference, along with the offset of the wheels.
Hope this helps.

Foundout the other day that the clutch slave cylinder was leaking. Just finished replacing it tonight. You can do a rebuild kit, but the clutch slave cylinder was only $25 to replace.
I also ordered a clutch master and have it on hand for when that goes. The piston boot was a little wet with fluid, but I didn't want to start on it today as I have heard it is a bit of a PITA to replace.

Have been driving the car lately-- Will be ordering new rotors soon to stop the vibration when the brakes get hot.
Also the car has found a new winter home for when the weather gets bad and my 535i begins winter duty:
Next to younger brother M5

Clean new brake rotors in place:
The 4 pistons on each caliper seemed to move freely, so that was good! The rotors that came off look pretty old, and I will probably just throw them out and not bother resurfacing them. One was giving a vibration when the brake got hot, anyways.
And some Eye Candy too!

Thanks bgo.
I have some BBS RS's in gold that I have been itching to get on the car-- they will have to wait until spring time.
Actually the glass is the brown tinted window. I almost got pissed this summer when a passing truck launched a rock at my windshield. It pitted the window, but I was lucky not to get a fracture!

Amazing black beauty has the unparalled charm
Your photographs are really stunning! Back cars simply attracts like big black jaguar moving on road.
The detailed photographs keep attached views to watch one by one.
Well you care for problems "new rotors soon to stop the vibration when the brakes get hot" just feels as if some one nourishing the black horse.
How you maintain its carpet? Some details on carpet leaning specially in winter...

Thanks, Buddy.
I will attempt to get soem additional phgotos in the the upcoming weeks as spring approaches.
For carpets, I have found the best way to go is use a hand brush and soapy water and the use of a mild degreaser for spots.
We have a steam extractor which allows me to spray hot water and then vaccuum it up after I have scrubbed. A shop vac could do this, butallow it some time to sit in the sun with windows cracked to really dry out the carpet afterwards.
Removal of the front seats helps to make it more accessible. The same scrubbing/ cleaning can be done with the mats out of the car.
