Well after buying my 89 635 highline of Mr lucky a former forum member my car will soon be ready for the road, i have had extensive work done, new brake pipes, exhaust rubber replaced, both sills welded, my four AC schnitser alloys refurbished, new battery rear brake pads, parts to be fitted next are new front discs and pads, a headlight adjuster, brake sensors, will also get the oil and filters done along with new coolant, then mot time :) had the car 3.5 years and after having our son Charlie a year past march its time to get cracking and get this gorgeous car on the road, :D :D will keep you all posted,

What you need now is a set of Alpina Softlines for the 6 to match!
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

A six and a seven is a nice match but you need to lose the ALPINA bonnet and boot roundels as well as the mismatched and incorrect Alpina and 'B12 5.0' badges; there wasn't an E38 'B12 5.0' so people will know straight away it is a fake.

Yes a nice set up :D yes the fake badges etc will be removed, have the original roundels and 750il badges ready to go on, it is an epic car, spoilt for choice on which to go out in :D paid £900 for the highline and £2000 for the 750il, scandalous how cheap you can buy these epic cars for :D i feel truly blessed and very lucky to own them....

The Alpina roundels are always fake as no Buchloe car has ever been supplied with them.... and they fade horribly to pink as you can see. The 'ALPINA' boot lettering is the later type and the 'B12 5.0' badge the earlier type so they are mismatched but should you get them off successfully you'll be surprised how much they will still fetch; IIRC the 'B12 5.0' badge would cost about £110 new..

Here's my perfect 5, 6 and 7; B10 4.6T, M635CSi and B12 5.7L.

Image

It might soon be a perfect 4, 5, 6 and 7 as Mrs Sharkfan picks up her indecently rapid 435d Xdrive Cabriolet in the next few days....

Well my great white shark is now down at my bmws specialist to get the final parts fitted before i get the car mot,d, it hit a snag though, the discs i bought turned out to be too big !! bought from euro car parts in january 2015 they agreed to exchange them even though i bought them nearly two years ago :D so hopefully it will be done and dusted by the end of next week =D> been a long time coming, it will then hibernate till spring when a full service will be carried out before its maiden journey up the north of scotland , widsh me luck all

Well after 9 years 5 months and 14 days off the road my 1989 shark is finally road legal !!! mot,d this morning :D my joy however was short lived ! I went to start it after the test and it fired up no problem only to cut out after a few seconds, ](*,) any ideas people???my google search points to the idle control valve, could this be the problem? its at the garage i mot,d it at so they will let me know what they find, in recent months i,ve replaced the fuel pump, filter and fuel lines, also the master cylinder, as these were faulty and gave up the ghost :|

Anyhow its great to finally have her on the road, any input on the problem will be most welcome,

Martin
