Hi Guys.

After doing some other BMW projects, I found an E24 633CSI for a nice price and in decent conditions with a lot of spare parts (fenders, brake calipers etc)

I have some big plans for it. The car will be stripped all the way. Engine will be rebuild and improved where possible.
Still thinking about the Turbo setup but need to dig more into that for this engine.

When it comes to the electrical system I'm planning on making it a "modern car";
- Added parking sensors
- Adding reverse camera
- Adding heated and ventialtions seats system
- Adding lumbar supports
- Adding custom speakers system.
- Upgrading the AC system
- Different motor management system.
- Possible digital screen for the instrument cluster etc.

The car will be a project when it's finished I will be enjoy driving it in the weekends and during road trips.

Pictures will follow and planning on added a Youtube channel with progress of the build as well.

For now I'm curious if one of you can help me out.. I've been trying to decode the VIN number but with no result so far.

Can someone help me with the "option package" that's already on the car according to the following info:

I've already contacted BMW dealer in Dielsdorf for more info about the car when it was purchased.

Update April 8th 2020:

Dealer and other forum users advised me to have a look under the rear seats for a "Prüfkarte"
Too bad this was already removed and only glue was still present still no clue about the history and contacted the dealer in Dielsdorf again.
Let's then start to take the car apart and see what we are dealing with.

Appears to be a very solid example, given how early it is

You appear to be quite ambitious, looking at the list of modern upgrades you want to perform

And looks like it has air suspension (bagged)

I am really intrigued with the wiring diagram you produced of the existing systems. What software are you utilizing for this?
When complete, this document will surely be a great reference in the future for such an ambitious build.
I look forward to see how things progress.

Hi Pasocb,

Thanks for the support and I hope you're enjoying the rest of the build. So far I only "reversed" engineered the main wiring harness.
The rest will follow soon. I'm just using Microsoft Visio for this. I've been using it a lot during my work and it's nice and easy to add pictures and so.

So when all the original wiring is in and I will start adding my "modern" technology into the overview, I will post that in a video.

Yes I am enjoying your project thread. My current projects are focused around bringing my two cars back to their original (stock) glory; however, I can appreciate a tastefully done restomod.

Your reversed engineered wiring diagram is something that would likely be useful to many of us with early series one cars. I will need to look into Visio myself as a good way to document projects.

Sounds great! After I discovered this car was far from original and been in many hands I put my mind on restomod.

Yes I'm still working on it as it's still quite a puzzle. The content I showed was only the main harness and still had some questionmarks in there.
Now I'm working on added the central locking harness, engine wiring harness and automatic gearbox harness.
Once everything is in Visio I will share it on this forum. It might not be usefull for everyone but you can edit it then.
