Touring Joara Euro & Sports Car Tour Held in NC 11/1/14

Fellow Sixer Enthusiasts,

Below is a link to a BMW-friendly driving event held in Morganton, NC. It winds through the wonderfully twisty roads of the foothills and mountains here in beautiful western NC. Drivers of BMWs of any age are encouraged to participate. Registration is only $25 per car; more info and registration page can be found here:

This event is hosted by Table Rock Sports Car Club, a very BMW-friendly organization:

There are many options for nearby lodging and restaurants in the immediate area. I have participated in this event in '11 and again in '13 and I can vouch for the fact that it is a great ride which just gets better each year. Dawn and I will, of course, be participating yet again this year.

Proceeds from it support the Exploring Joara Foundation, a non-profit archaeological effort based around the discovery of a 16th century Spanish fort in Burke County, NC and expanded to include the nearby Native American settlements found here as well. Among other functions, Joara is used as a tool to educate local schoolchildren about the unique history of their region and to introduce them to the field of archaeology. If interested, more info about the Exploring Joara Foundation can be found here:

Please feel free to ask me for any further info you might need about the tour.

I hope to see some of y'all there!
