Hello all,
I picked up my car from Bee-Emms this afternoon and it's running like a dream which makes the couple of grand service worthwhile i reckon.
Ben, my starting problem wasn't the starter, it was the ignition. Starter is fine. The fuel pump is fine too but the crank sensors were rooted and some other bits and bobs, it also didn't help that my fuel relays were the originals.
I've had a couple of 4-30 a.m starts this week so now i've finished i'm in no rush to pack and leave early in the morning as i just want to relax. If i can make it to either of the meet points for the drive down then i will, but please don't anyone wait around for me as i'm just going to wake up when i wake up and leave when i'm well and ready. If i don't see you in the morning then i'll see you at the campsite. Make sure the kettle is boiling. Thanks for your organisation re the campsite Mr Ben. It's very kind of you to pay for my spot.
See you all this weekend.
Regards
Paul

Great stuff Mr Humpage.
Sounds like a very civilised way of going about things.
Alright... I have a car that goes with air con & new pressure switch included, an alternator that's not going to fly off into outerspace... so I'm going to give it a go!
Binding brakes aside, I hope to make it by early evening as I've got a big drive ahead.
I think I'll bring some spare brake pads just in case!
Looking forward to catching you all soon.
Wish me luck!
Cheers...

I got home an hour ago on monday afternoon. The weekend was absolutely superb and i don't think i've enjoyed myself so much for ages. I've had a quick flick through some photos and just to be going on with for the moment and until i have a bit more time, here's a taster. We HAVE to go down to this part of the world again.
This was who we were.
This is where we went
This is who we met
And this is what we did....with much gusto.
Huge thanks to anyone who had even the slightest involvement in organising the weekend, 'twas brilliant.

Wonderful photos Paul, especially love the dog shot as I remember you lining that one up. We had a great weekend and will stay in memory for a long time. My nerves are still shot from being a passenger in a car travelling at speed. Great to meet everyone and enjoy a common passion. Roll on 2011!! Will load up pics when I can figure out how to do it.
Hi Everyone
I'm home now too, had a great drive from Albury back through Corryong and over Kosziusko to Thredbo and then back up the Hume to Capital City. The Alpine Pass is an absolutely stunning drive which I seriously think we need to work in to a future 6er meet!
Anyway, thank you to everyone who came along this weekend and made it such an enjoyable and successful event. The weather was perfect, the roads were clear, and it was a pleasure to spend all that time with such a welcoming and entertaining group of people. The participation and enthusiasm of all who made the effort to travel significant distances to Albury is greatly appreciated.
And a particular, very special thank you to both Sandie & Peter. Organising the driving routes for these get-togethers can be pretty hit-or-miss when doing it from afar and being largely unfamiliar with the areas. Peter & Sandie volunteered the routes for this cruise and put together two superb days with an endless supply of perfect driving roads & marvellous scenery, they sorted out our all-important lunch venues for both days and they led us to safety when we occasionally got lost. I really appreciate your input and suggestions for the weekend which made everything such a success.
And of course, I can't thank you both enough for allowing me the opportunity to get out there on those wide open twisting & undulating country roads in your 850 and your M6. I was kinda intimidated at the start when you said, "Here, take the 8 for a run...!", but both vehicles were simply amazing to drive. I'd never experienced anything like that 8 before - effortless power, deceptively quick acceleration, incredibly sure-footed handling and nimble enough to go around a corner like a yellow line, topped off with that V12 rumble. And then the chance to find out first hand what all the fuss is about those M6s I've heard so much about. It was like I had some screaming banshee in my hands - the sound alone was enough to generate a wicked grin and a pretty quick realisation that this car has crazy power matched with rock-solid handling, but still so easy to drive and so enjoyable to drive. Thank you both very much for trusting me with your cars, I genuinely appreciate it.
Great photos Paul, as always. I'm not sure what I've got in the way of photos, I was too busy keeping up appearances, reading my map and ignoring the smart alec banter on the CB radios to snap many shots, but I'll suss them out over the coming days and see what's what. Anyone who has got photos, post 'em up, I'd love to see what I missed!
Regards,
Ellis.

Lovely photos guys.
Was a fantastic trip. Sandy and Peter's hard work and input turned this into the best trip Rosie and I have attended. Thank you so so much for all the hard work and input into the trip Sandy and Peter. What wonderful roads and what fantastic people. Rosie suffered from dehydration on the final day and was quite ill. Stopped us from shouting Peter and Sandy dinner so Rosie stated we need to fly down and shout you guys in Melbourne. I'm looking forward to that and we'll call later in the year to organise something. Rosie is yet to visit Melbourne.
Thanks for pushing this along Mark and was great to see everyone there. I don't think we have been on a drive with such clear roads with little traffic and spectacular views in a long long long time.
I'll get Rosie's photos together over the next few days. She also has a few small vidoes of some driving although the shutter speed on her Iphone could not keep up with us all.
Hope to see all soon!
Josh and Rosie.

What a fanatstic trip, thanks to everybody for organising and making driving a sixer a very special experience!
I have some photos too which I'll try to upload tonight!
I just got back from my mechanic who's been having fun with the M88 engine...
I hope he knows how it all fits back together again!
Cheers,
Alex

Hi all,
Bailey and I had a great time. Thanks to Mark for pushing this along and Peter for talking me into coming. The roads Sandie and yourself selected were brilliant
Paul you're a genius with that camera, how do you do things like this??
BTW Bailey and I did decide to try the Omeo hwy route home. Guess what! it isn't sealed all the way through... 40KMs of dirt roads with huge rocks. Picked up a couple of scratches but nothing too serious. Aside from the dirt there was another 200KM odd of the very same roads we'd been driving all weekend. Got home at 11PM (8 hours after we left Corryong!) but what a drive!
Can't wait 'til next year
Cheers
