Colorado 6ers Drive - june 30th

Post by tschultz »

How about another drive in a couple weeks. We could take a trip up Coal Creek Canyon around to Nederland, or drive up towards Lyon/Estes Park.

Who is available that day?
Been itching to do another drive!

The next drive will be June 30th, and we will be heading up and around Deer Creek Canyon, up through Evergreen, and then up to Lookout Mountain.
This route looks to be about 60 miles (90 minutes) and leads right into Golden.

If anybody is interested in a longer route, we can tack on the ride up Coal Creek Canyon to Rollinsville, and around back down Golden Gate Canyon. This route will be about 110 miles (2.5 Hours to Rollinsville-lunch) and leads back to Golden.

I found a nice looking place along the route, Called the Stage Stop 1868 open from 7:30-1 for Brunch. It looks tasty!

In Lieu of the recent heat, We will meet at The Great Indoors at Park Meadows at 8:30am. This way, we can hopefully chat a bit, but get on the road by 9:00 or 9:15am.

Any suggestions of a place to stop and eat if we take the shorter route? It will be nice to cool down in the mountain air, but I'm not sure if there are any good stopping points for a small group. We can eat in Golden, but it might be hot in town.

I think the extended route sounds good with the lunch in Rollinsville. Let me know what you all think of this. It seems like there are many options for everybody to head various directions home once we get back to Golden.
