He is a massive thief and a compulsive liar and has been ripping loads of people off, his workshop was gutted by fire at beginning of November, I did get confirmation of this by phoning the garage next to him , he also owes them money, my posts are here viewtopic.php?t=28128e

So has anyone actually taken this guy to court yet? He has my deposit on some RHD E24 manifolds he was making up for me, apparently completed in July but now just excuses and excuses and no more replies like everyone else. Dealt with him last year and it went great, had no idea this would happen.

I've filed a claim with my bank but they said I'll likely have to take it to court.

What the hell is going on with him? And has anyone got their refund?

Anyone who gets either a refund or the goods they paid for from that worthless lying thief is very lucky indeed.

This is the link i used http://www.scotcourts.gov.uk/taking-act ... -procedure and the deadline for refund before the court takes further action is only a few days away.
Just to explain further, my friend has a 635csi and he is very busy as he runs a few companies so I get all his cars repaired/restored for him and we swap cars etc and I sourced some bbs alloys from Boyd via a classic car website and they never arrived , this was back in April and £1100 was paid into his bank.

I may be able to help with manifold as my friend has a new manifold from fritzbits on his and the old ones with my local bmw specialist, if you want you call me on 07828655794 there was nothing wrong with it but the rest of the exhaust was shot and the car now has a full stainless system on it.

I took him to court, won and got paid out. I'm in England so had to file a claim with the small claims court in Scotland.

Once they decided in my favour after he didn't bother showing up to court or replying to any letters from the courts I had to contact a Sherrif in Scotland, who encouraged him to pay up before his stock was removed to cover monies owed to me, which included court fees.

He finally paid up but not before I had to contact him to inform him he hadn't paid me enough, to which he replied "oh I thought I hadn't paid you enough" ](*,)

All in all it took 8 months to get my money back from the start of proceedings to receiving the last payment in to my account.

Have patience and you'll get hopefully get the result you want.

I'm guessing you didn't just use the form on the .gov site to file a claim, that's where I was going to start.

Cheers.

I think I did. I phoned the Scottish courts first to see what I would need to do. They were very helpful and directed me to the correct forms.
