Great little welding tables

Post by Da_Hose »

Hey everyone. I posted in another thread that I just re-organized my garage and am project READY! \:D/

Part of the reorganization included purchasing some small welding tables from Harbor Freight.

I have a rolling toolbox that is a good worktable, but having two tables of exactly the same height when working on or welding something bigger is a huge plus. They go together quick/easy and are very strong. If you just need some folding tables that can handle big weight and will allow welding on them, I highly recommend these.

This HF item may be better than the $139+ s/h item at Eastwood

http://www.eastwood.com/foldable-welding-table.html

Despite the higher price, the reviews aren't all that good with manufacturing defects, high (overweight) shipping costs, etc.

So, now that you have two tables, talk about your welding equipment selection....

Well then. Since you ask...

My MIG is a Hobart Handler 135. The current equivalent model is the Hobart 140.

The Handler line is a gas capable unit and it absolutely rocks for my needs. If I had to buy something right now though, Eastwood sells a 220V unit that has the regular stinger AND a spool gun. That means you can easily do aluminum as well. I would absolutely buy that now and plug it into a clothes dryer outlet!!!

My TIG welder is a little ThermalArc 95S.

It's a scratch start unit, but it welds SS just fine. I got it for about $500 locally, but you can find it for less online.
