where to source new parts in UK

where to source new parts in UK
Hi all, pretty new to E24 ownership and need a few small trivial parts but not sure where to start! ideally I want OEM but not sure if BMW can still supply parts for our ageing 6-ers!
I know of GSF, Europarts and have a local BMW dealer but are there any other sources of parts suppliers in the UK or maybe EU?
I need a couple of door handle gaskets, hood/bonnet pin switch, a new 635 emblem, a plastic cap for the A pillar trim on outside of car and also a couple of tools from the took kit. also a plastic trim piece from the boot/truck area where the pin switch slams down onto..
all small bits not really hurting anything but I like my cars to be perfect! I'm sure I'll find more things to change once I get stuck in!

About the only dependable Independent supplier . I've used them for very small to large items and they always are competitive & efficient .

and was bitterly disappointed at their attitude when my order was delivered short of a number of components that I ordered . Even with photographic proof positive evidence they shunned me and never did send out the items missing.
Caveat Emptor .
There are also some specialist breakers but you MUST be very careful who you deal with when swimming in those ponds .

I generally always use my local BMW dealer providing the part is still available, which it usually it. When the part is not available then I've used www.pr-design.dk (for a genuine part NLA, but in stock with them) and partacus.de for expensive items. The Euro rate is very good at the moment and so big ticket items (over a few hundred pounds) it can be worth importing from Europe, but bear in mind shipping costs (around 30 euros) and bank transfer/currency commission which can add quite a bit.

I've used Genuine Autoparts for quite a few obscure bits. I'm new to the e24 but have found them good for e38 bits and whilst they are in Germany they dispatch pretty quickly and prices are reasonable.
Currently doing battle with removing an after market alarm and having looked at Brucey's superb work on the squirters decided to grab a handful of rusted valve and order a new one. Will have to post in a new board on these though.

yes, bodily it is pretty good. The wiring loom wrapping has disintegrated and there are various electrical gremlins but otherwise its great fun. I swapped a T1 Bentley for it and find spares prices quite refreshing after the Bentley!

you can get the correct cloth tape off ebay very cheap, I did mine and it made a big difference to the engine bay

Thanks for the info. I bought some "Tesa" tape off ebay and it seems very easy to handle and does look something like the original fabric. As you say it looks a whole lot better than the rotting mess it was.

What about the usual old vendors like German and Swedish and Euro Car Parts in Wembley? They used to be my go to source in the 90's.
