Milwaukee's Cordless 12v 3/8" ratchet

Post by sansouci »

Anyone have any experience with this tool? It's about $150 with a battery and most vendors hold the price although some offer free shipping and no tax.

My general experience with Milwaukee tools, is that they are top notch gear. I purchased an ACDelco LiON ratchet as it offered the greatest documented torque rating of all the tools I saw (52 ft./lb.), at a price I could afford. Buying that electric ratchet was a real game changer. I haven't busted out an air tool since I bought it. I highly recommend owning an electric ratchet.

I will add that I also purchased a Harbor Freight 1/2" battery powered impact wrench. I am amazed at how good it is for the price. The Milwaukee and Bosch units are more powerful, but prices on them are in the $400 range. The HF tool was just $100 on sale and with a full charge, it can handle wheel nuts and most high torque bolts/nuts. The batteries are only NiCD, though so they do lose power quickly. I believe I could make a LiON battery work with it, which would give increased torque and duration. If I can make that happen, I'll provide feedback in another post.

High jack over. I reiterate how great an electric ratchet wrench is, and that I would trust a Milwaukee tool.

I'm a tradie and use Milwaukie 12v and 18v. I don't have a 3/8 drive but I have both the 1/4 and 1/2 ones and they are both really good.
