I ran across polyurethane "Pinch Weld Adapters" for my floor jack on ebay. Cheap enough. Seems to be an elegant solution to protect the fragile weld seams. Now I'm just looking for something better than the HF jack stand pads when I put 'er up on all fours.

Get some hockey pucks and work them to your liking with a sander or hot knife.

There is a guy on British ebay selling sanded down hockey pucks if you don't want to deal with making your own.

I've been using hockey pucks for years, too. Nothing better, and very durable.

Mine was $3.91 with free shipping (from China!) Sounds like a bargain to me. Will report back if it is durable
