ETM for Euro E24? 1985

Post by dwcains »

I've got the US ETM for a few years, but my car is am '85 Euro, and I'm finding many differences in the wire colors, particularly under the dash. Is there a Euro ETM? I have searched and searched, to no avail. P;ease let me know if you have had an success. Thanks in advance.

I've never seen a "Euro ETM". They appear to be specifically published by BMW NA back in the day. I dare say diagrams must exist somewhere though as German engineers would have designed them.

That's an interesting assertion about the manuals only being published by BMW-NA. There really are more differences in the wiring than one might expect. I'm going to try some different search terms in Google, and see what turns up.

I'm becoming convinced there isnt a Euro ETM, but that doesn't mean there isn't a comprehensive Euro service manual that includes the wiring diagrams. So, still searching.

I bought a repro service manual for my 81 euro. Included was/is a full chassis schematic as well as a key to the relays and switches. I found it in Hemmings either in the BMW parts for sale section or the literature for sale section

Also google Prospero's Garage. He sells laminated wiring diagrams, in color, for BMWs but I don't know if he has the the euros

You may also want to contact "shogun" on the E32 forum of bimmerforums. While he is a guru of the M70/E32, he is a German living in Japan and has a great depth of knowledge and resources.

Dean I found a reprint euro manual for my 81 with complete chassis schematic. Found it from a purveyor in Hemmings years ago. In this months Hemmings ,under BMW parts, is a guy advertising he has "most" manuals. You can google Hemmings and find him, maybe some others under the literature for sale heading.
