Re: M owners must have.
Looks like an extremely useful tool - at very reasonable cost
Has anybody on this board actually used one?

Re: M owners must have.
Got the Mantis Manometer yesterday and read through all the instructions. Pulled the air bleeders, cleaned and put new o rings on. Then same for the idle valve.Set the bleeders at 1/2 turn from bottom and set the idle valve back where it was at 6 1/2 turns. Hooked up the Manometer and started fine tuning. This takes some patience going back and forth then also adjusting the idle valve to get the idle around 900. So before I started the idle surged some and car had slight stumble around 2500, well that is all gone. It is truly a different car now and idle is rock steady. Forgot to say that before I started clean up. I hooked it up to see where it was ,very bad ,not one even close, and the car had the ITD"s done before by a bmw shop. Could not be happier !!!

At last year's SoCal Vintage BMW meet in Van Nuys I spoke with Dean Caccavo, who developed this, if I recall correctly. In any case, I remember him saying it was available for loan, with the borrower paying shipping, of course. This seems to be corroborated by this thread on mye28.com. I'd recommend contacting him (HealeyBN7) to discuss a loan before committing to a purchase.raykoke wrote:Let us know when it's available for rental.soccernut wrote:Got one coming , will let you know how it works.

I assume this would work with our M88/3 engines as well?
