Wheels apart?

Post by steve »

Hi all,

Right today i have started the job of taking my wheels apart
( style 5s 8j front and 9j rear) with the intension of having the outers polished and clearcoated the nuts and bolts zinc plated and centre parts powder coated.

I have taken the 36 nuts and bolts out of the rim, problem is
the centre wont split from the outer. I have sprayed wd40 all
round it and beat the centre with a rubber mallet for ten minutes
and it aint moved a mm.

please help

thanks steve

You'll need to use a fly press to split them.Somewhere there is an earlier post of mine that details the refurb.procedure.

i have got them all out,i used a piece of wood and a
lump hammer :) , no damage done apart from rounding one nut
what aint bad considering theres 144 of them.

any way sent one away today to get the outer polished and see
how it turns out .

any ideas where to get a nut :?:
