Any diehards still using TRXs?

Post by euro24 »

When I bought my car I replaced the TRX wheels with 15" style 5s. Is anyone here still actively using their TRXs?

I read here that 'Ralph in SoCal' has sold some tires to Ferrari owners.
There should be a Ferrari website?
Good luck,,,,Greg

I occasionally fit one of these sets if the weather is good!

PS. They are still for sale (don't forget there are five of each).
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

I still have TRXs on several of my cars but I do worry about the cost of replacing them

The 415 tyres are now £347.00 from Longstone tyres. They were over £400 not long ago.

I still have them on mine, I only do around 2K miles a year and they never seem to wear, I also have two spares in the garage.
The cost of replacing them just does not add up for me.

I bought a set of Alpinas which look equally good, and tyres only cost about£100, although I still have the BBS wheels with TRX's in the garage.
My experience with Ferrari's and Maseratis has taught me that the rarer tyres are usually produced about once a year and as stocks get bought, prices rise. I have excellent contacts with the tyres trade but these rarer tyres are only sold via specialist dealers such as Longstone.
At least now I am not held to ransom!
