Hubcentric ring recommendations

Post by baders »

Hi all. I've just purchased a nice set of BBS RC 090s from a BC member. Looking at Ebay there are a plethora of choices for 74.1 to 72.56mm rings. Has anyone got recent good experience of one of these sellers ? Any other sources ? Cost is not a problem, I just want the best. Thanks in advance.

Paul! That car already has the best available wheel choice. The RS211 were made specifically by BBS for the e24. Those were even modified to 9 inches wide in the rear from what I remember.

RC090s are nice and all but the RS wheel is more period correct and runs better with these cars.

I wouldn't change wheels!!

BTW - you need 74.1 to 72.6 rings.
There is a very fine line between "Hobby" and Mental Illness.

Yep, I'll be keeping the RS wheels Ralph. The 17"s intriged me however, and I'm an impulse buyer sometimes LOL.

Some quote 72.56mm, some 72.6mm. Is there a specific difference I should be aware of ? (aside from 0.04mm) :)

Actually 72.56 but often mentioned as 72.6. Same thing either way. You do want Aluminum units as they wear much better. Discount Tire here in the US provided mine for about $11 a set.

Building a wheel fort? We have many members, me included, with that specific goal (problem).

Hehehehe. For me it's a problem, a curse, and a hobby :) Couple of years ago I decided that if I wanted something and it was within the means, I would have it. Thus the return to a 635. Thanks for the info on the rings, I'll order some in.
