Mastercraft?

Post by euro24 »

Last time I got tires I bought the most expensive thing Les Schwab (regional tire shop) had in stock, which was Mastercraft Strategy. A friend that used to work at Les Schwab says they are good tires that last a long time. Any opinions on these tires?

Never heard of that tire brand.
Since I use to slalom & have gone to road races forever,
I have always gone with what was advertised at the track.

Which includes, not necessarily in this order, Michelin, Goodyear,
Pirelli & others. Lately Kumho & Falcon have improved.
Since you live in Portland I suggest you zero in on a/s=all season
or a/w= weather tires stamped in the rubber. The more open tread will help in the rain.

I'm sure I'm forgetting a coupla tire brands but,,,,,,,!
Ask the seller what all the stamping means & they'll help.
At the moment I'm running Michelin Pilot Sport A/S.
And that's because I tend to hit corners pretty hard when alone!
I have & play with my fav freeway on/off ramps. 8)

Mastercraft is actually made by Cooper Tires, pretty much their entry level brand. I had a few sets over the years on work vehicles, just basic all season tires, never had any complains. Would not consider any of their offerings performance tires, but if you are looking for a price break, still better then the Chinese junk out there.
