Rare E34 M5 Throwing Star Wheels???

Post by MSGGrunt »

I was searching and searching trying to identify the rims on my newly acquired M6 and what a surprise to find that I guess the rims on it are not very common.

BMW Style-21 (2-Section) Staggered FORGED 17x8 "Throwing Star" Wheels

Front 17 x 8J ET20 235/45R17
Rear 17 x 9J ET22 255/40R17

Extremely hard to find and were available mostly as an upgrade in the European Market.

There are 3 sets on EBay right now going for $2000.00, $2500.00, and $2750.00.

The staggered sets are hard to find and valuable. They are strong and relatively light for there size. I had a set on an M6 years ago.

I'm finding out that they are pretty unique. And mine are staggered. Nice option to have on a car when you are not expecting anything special.

I've been running a staggered polished set for years, love 'em =D>

Mine are E34 ///M5 as well, same size tires too

Thankfully, I didn't pay "that" much, I think $2200 with Michelin Pilot Sports, again that was quite some time ago

Enjoy those rare wheels, nice example

GRNSHRK, beautiful color...

Not the best picture but, what these rims look like on a Cinnabar car.

Nice score, congrats! I found those rims so attractive myself and bought them three years ago.

Curious on the color, guessing Nagaro Silver =D>

So cool to see so much interest in these wheels

Think I've been running these for at least 10 years, but would have to go back and check my records :-k

A couple pictures I borrowed off the internet of the wheels "naked" and one of the back side in case anyone wants the markings.
