refinished 16x8 bbs rs021

Post by red5nic »

Thanks Ralph!!

Here is a pic of one of the recently refurbished RS021 16x8 wheels that I purchased from Ralph. They will go on an 88 M6 that I am restoring. Hopefully the pic comes through and once I get a hang of this, I will try and get more pics up.

Started the restoration up front b/c the radiator had a leak. Been replacing as much OEM as possible to keep it original. Worked my way through entire suspension. Had calipers rebuilt and powder coated gold since zinc-cad just wasn't an option. Made a few upgrades along the way like stainless brake lines. Here's where I'm headed now

Those look nice. How did you get the lips to shine like that. I sanded the lips on my RS with 320, 600, 1000 and 2000. I have yet to polish it though.

That is sweet Jake. I wish I could have kept those wheels but you seem to be a better caretaker than I. They are in very good hands and I wish you well with the journey to having that M6 fully restored. Thanks for the pics.

Get the polish ball attachment for your drill and use Mothers Polish. Outstanding results with patience. A truly OCD owner would polish the inner barrels as well - just putting that out there for the true OCD crowd. Not saying you are Vic!!

Red5,

Those wheels look great, and the gold centers look fantastic on your red m6.

Well done, to you and Ralph.

Those wheels look awesome. I have a set of MSW mesh wheels ( look similar to BBS RAs ) that I want to refinish. Can't decide on gold ( what they are now) or black. My car is red and the gold sure looks great with the red. I'm leaning toward black but when I see pics that look like that its hard to beat that look! Nice job. How about some other pics of you M6 and what you're doing.
