OK gents, toying with adding moderate wheel spacers on the front of the green beast, perhaps 10 - 12 mm, nothing huge, of course
But as I have locks securing a fairly expensive set of polished Throwing Stars, and knowing that these spacers will require longer wheel lug bolts, how does one deal with the lock situation
Please let me know your collective thoughts
How to deal with locks when using spacers?

Re: How to deal with locks when using spacers?
Yes Ron, true, but, presuming that I don't install spacers on the rear (they don't need them, 9" wide wheels that already fill the wheel wells quite nicely, thank you ) I would then have 2 sets of locks, 2 keys to keep track of, and 4 locks of 2 different lengths that I would have no use for
This is exactly what I am attempting to avoid

Consider using studs and locking nuts. My euro 528i came with a set of studs and locking nuts. And if you're lucky Bobbo, I will have a set here. Back at you in a few as I know I already owe you lots of other bits and bobs.

Re: How to deal with locks when using spacers?
Hey Ralph,
Yes, please contact me off line, there are a few bits that we discussed previously, and I am also looking for a pair of rear/side marker lights, from a US big bumper 6er
The condition of the lenses is not important, but the back side of things, electronics and whatnot need to be in clean working order, no corrosion please
Regarding your idea, yeah that could surely work, but I'm not a fan of the look of wheel studs sticking out
They are great if your 6er is a track rat and you're swapping wheels back and forth all the time, otherwise I just don't see them
But send me a message
[email protected]
Once again Outlook has lost you

Hey Bobbo,
From what I see, the stock wheel bolt is 25-28mm long. If so, then you need to a set of bolts like these.

Ignore the evil brand they are listed for. They are conical seat, 12 X 1.5 thread, and 39mm long. They sure seem to be what you are looking for.

Hah, funny Joser
However, these are ball end, we need the coned variety
I guess in order to keep things as close to stock appearing as possible, I would have to go with 2 sets, one set obviously longer than the other
But hey, then I would have spares

I had so many windows open, I thought I read those to have conical seats. My bad. Doh!
