Passenger sunvisor refurb?

Post by smtguy »

Has anyone been able to figure out how to refurbish the passenger (RH) lighted sunvisor? The one in my 633 has contracted over time which allows the lighted mirror to fall out when flipped down.
Any help would be appreciated!

I have the same problem and I am experimenting with a rubber O-ring around the mirror to full the gap. No luck so far. Other thought is double sided sticky tape on the back.

I went with double sided sticky tape. Works a treat. First thing I did was replace the bulbs with high intensity LED's. I should never have to worry about the bulbs now.

Thanks for the ideas guys. Of course the other problem is that the plastic on the surface of the visor has shrunk and receded away from the opening for the mirror. Also where do you fine original clips with the integrated metal contact? I see lots of the "hook" type on eBay, but the original ones in my car are the push in/pull out type.

I bought a few of the contact-type pivots maybe a year and a half ago, and they were cheap, and the price varied by color. I got blue and repainted black with SEM trim paint. Then they all got expensive, and then went NLA, but maybe they.re back again, Check with a BMW dealer.

FCP Euro site says they have the anthrazit color for $22, but others sites say NLA - that's for p/n 51161927476.
