Any solution for fixing or replacing the horse hair trim piece around the parking brake? I am missing about and 1" section of hair on mine. They don't appear to be available new, I scoured my local pick and pull looking for any car that uses a hair type surround that could donate some hair but, most use just a leather boot or have replaced the hair with a split rubber piece.
Any advice?
Anyone have one, even if damaged, that they would be willing to sell? I figured I could even cut out and use a good section and epoxy it in place of my damaged section.

Re: Parking Brake Surround Horse Hairs
If it helps, what you are looking for is called a horsehair strip brush. If you look on jet.com, they have 36"strips for 20. A single strip would be long enough, but you would need to figure out how to mount it. Alternately, you could trim the hair off and epoxy it into your existing holder, but that could be a pain. I would focus on replacing the existing strip.

Good info Da_Hose. For $20.00 it will be worth it to order a strip and see what I can make out of it. I also see they have different style channels that it can't mount in. Maybe one of these would help in mounting it. And there is this that is made out of PVC so, with a little heat from a heat gun I should be able to form it. The only downside is the bristles are polyester and not horsehair and they are black not brown.

Re: Parking Brake Surround Horse Hairs
Well I sure wish I'd thought to do a post on this a few weeks ago!
I ended up buying the part from my local dealer. Even at wholesale price it was $257.00! It does come with the full surround, in black leather. The brushes look to be both ultrasonically welded, and glued in according to my upholstery guy.

Yeah, according to real OEM the black surround is still available. I'm just not willing to pay that kind of money just to replace a few missing hairs.
