MTech 1 Steering wheel retrofit

I'm looking to replace the steering wheel in my '89 635...I have the 1st generation SRS wheel. I have sourced a couple of MTech 1's but both are smaller in diameter that the wheel Im replacing, and when installed, cut off the vision to the top of the gauges. I can only assume they came from an E36 originally. Would someone know what the diameter is on a factory installed MTech 1 wheel in an E24 should be? Failing that, if you happen to own one, would you mind measuring the diameter for me please? Thank you!
