Passenger Door Lock Cam Repair - PART

Post by gte619n »

Hey guys,

The ear on the passenger door lock cam broke off in my car. I make a little model and was able to 3D print a replacement. Installed in the car and it works great. If anyone else needs one, you can get one printed from Thingverse.

Here's a link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4555433

Hope this helps!

What a great solution! Good job.
These printers are great to make parts that are obsolete.

Thanks!

Next up... the rubber wire boots that go from the body to the doors are bugging me...

Thinking about trying this and some dye:

Good job

Regarding the door boots. I replaced mine some time ago - had to buy the whole door loom. The thing with these is the transition sections to the rectangular shaped flanges aren't stiff enough, and collapse, resulting in the flange continually pulling out of the door post - had to bond them in.

Wow, I was not aware these flexible parts could be made with a 3D printer :o
Cool stuff, please share photos when you are done!

Could do FDM printing and use TPU for the door wiring harness boot

Also hello fellow Atlanta 6 owner that had to 3d model a door lock part. Extremely small world.
