HIGH BEAM lens removal help?

Post by SORIANOTRON »

Hey fellas,

Looking to replace my high beam lenses with some aftermarket yellow ones. I went under the hood from the back of the lamps to poke around and see how to remove them and found it to be quite tight in there. :-k

I searched and couldn't find a specific thread regarding removal of this lens.

Anyone have any tips or suggestions trying to get these out?

Thanks!

Remove the trim rings from the outside. Loosen the screws and twist the ring a fraction to clear the screw head.

Hi

Why not remove the lenses get them polished and then wrapped in yellow vinyl. That way if you get tired of them you simply peel the vinyl off.

Which lights do you have??

Pictures would help us tell what you have.

There are 3 different types...correct me if I'm wrong..

-Early the screw on trim rings (std h4/h1 housings) Easy to change, with old type lens

-Mids (84+) clip on trim rings that have to be removed from the assembly and have screws/bolts built into lens

-Late (88-89) (e30/e34 type) that are paired with ellipsoids (lows) type which have to be removed like the mids...have mounts built into the lens
