Post by ramp »

Any idea where one can obtain the little black screw covers on the outside of window frame molding?

Could I hijack this thread to ask whether this 3 part rain deflector contraption is easily removable once the screws at the front have been removed?

Anybody done the hard work before willing to share pain/joy?

its easy enough to remove once you have removed the aluminium strips that cover the screws which you have to be ultra careful taking off as they bend out of shape easily..i would budget for new ones, not cheap..

They are relatively easy to get back to the original shape.
They are ALWAYS rustier than you thought!!!!!!

the aluminium trim strims are anodised, and the anodising typically goes milky and never looks quite the same again, if the strips are bent too far.

I would avoid removal of the gutter trim unless absolutely necessary, because there is a good risk of damage arising.

You can remove the front wings without removing any more of that trim than the two screws BTW.

cheers
