Cool, yeah I can well see that G302 ground connection easily right now since both my rear seats are out for the rear strut brace install which required parcel shelf removal = speaker removal = seat removal = seat belt removal... etc. etc. I don't think that the little black earth lead is intended to be physically connected here though. Electrically connected, yes, but not physically. That would be quite a long run of wire for such a minor piece of equipment.

I dropped the bolt when removing it and the antenna motor unit.

On my '83, the unit grounded through this bolt. Hoping to be able to get it with a magnet tonight when reinstalling.

As Tom found out, the ground is connected to the bottom mount bolt. And to clarify, the ground is connected to the bolt securing the bottom bracket to the antenna housing. Ground is effective only when the bottom bracket is properly bolted to the car.
