I think the left high beam should follow the same pattern as the right.

2 o'clock position to the right of the low beam.

You need a lot more distance to get any sort of accurate aiming done - I usually get back maybe 20-25 feet from a vertical wall, on the back side of the local grocery store late at night. Then fine tune after driving around a bit.
